In December of 2011, I placed an ad on Craigslist to trade my 1976 Bally Freedom EM pinball machine for a motorcylce-- running or not. I had received the pinball machine in a trade for my 1966 Volvo 1800S Sports Coupe. I was fortunate enough that two guys responded with offers. The first offer was for a 1979 Yamaha RD400F Daytona Special that had sat for almost 20 years in a garage, hardly touched. Another guy offered me his 1994 Yamaha SECA II that was still (almost) road-worthy. I wanted both motorcycles, but only had the one pinball machine to trade. I bought my first bike at a garage sale for $15, a 1971 Yamaha R5. Since that bike I have had all four strokes. I decided to revisit my youth and made the deal for the RD400.
